Lasswade and North Berwick’s 2024-25 season opened with this National League Cup tie. The first stage of the Cup this season is in 8 Pools of three or four teams geographically grouped. Linlithgow completes this Pool.

Lasswade narrowly missed promotion last season while North Berwick ended In the middle of Division 4. The full Division between the sides soon showed when Robertson touched down in the first five minutes and again 5 minutes later for what was to be the second of his five tries.
North Berwick clawed one try back on the quarter hour but tries by Robertson (2), Chalmers, Catterall and Lamont and four Smith conversions brought up the 5-43 half time score.

Robertson’s fifth try opened the second half scoring after 10 minutes but North Berwick soon countered with a converted try. However, Lasswade were merciless and tries from Innes(2), Smith, and Hall and three Smith conversions stretched the lead to 12-74.

North Berwick were to have the last word with an interception and a try under the posts for a final score of 19-74.
Lasswade’s next pool game is at home to Linlithgow on 2 November.

Meanwhile, this Saturday the National League Division 2 campaign starts at Hawthronden when Lasswade host Newton Stewart. Kick-off 3pm.
